The Vulcan Project
Status: Ongoing
Scale: National
Region: North America (IV)
The Vulcan Project is a multiagency funded effort to quantify North American fossil-fuel-carbon-dioxide emissions (FFCO2) at finer space and time scales in order to better quantify the North American carbon budget and provide better inverse estimates of carbon sources and sinks. This enables decision makers and stakeholders to have a detailed quantitative understanding of the FFCO2-emitting landscape. The newest data is available at 1km x 1km spatial resolutions and hourly temporal resolutions.
