Integrated Global Greenhouse Gas Information System (IG3IS)

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and its partners have created the Integrated Global Greenhouse Gas Information System (IG3IS) to improve how we evaluate sources and sinks of greenhouse gases (GHG). This initiative helps national governments, cities, and organizations by providing reliable and up-to-date data on GHG emissions and removals. The goal is to make tracking emissions and removals  more timely and comprehensive to support making better decisions for climate mitigation.

IG3IS focuses on meeting the needs of its users. It aims to:
  •    Help planning the mitigation actions and see their results
  •    Drive better climate policies for regions, nations and cities.
  •    Create tools and methods  that offer useful insights about GHG emissions and removals.

By doing this, IG3IS helps society understand and reduce GHG emissions more effectively.
