Integrated Global Greenhouse Gas Information System (IG3IS)

WMO’s Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) Programme developed the Integrated Global Greenhouse Gas Information System (IG³IS) to improve the ways in which we evaluate sources and sinks of greenhouse gases (GHG). This initiative provides reliable and up-to-date data on GHG emissions and removals which have been used by national governments, cities and other relevant organizations in their climate assessments/decisions and actions. The goal is to make this information timelier and more comprehensive using the best available science.

IG³IS creates tools and methodologies that offer useful insights about GHG emissions and removals. The user communities have used this information for: 
•    Monitoring, verification and management of GHG emissions and removals across different spatial scales (from nations to cities and individual facilities); and
•    Providing insights into long-term climate planning and actions by diverse decision-makers. 

By doing this, IG³IS helps users understand and reduce GHG emissions more effectively.
