About IG3IS
The Integrated Global Greenhouse Gas Information System (IG3IS) is an initiative of the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) Programme. IG3IS is based on successful existing measurement and analysis methods and use cases for which scientific and technical skill is proven or emerging. It aims to provide the best possible estimates of GHG emissions and removals to support decision-makers and user communities in taking better-informed action to reduce GHG emissions. IG3IS is not designed to check compliance with regulations. Rather, it provides information for emissions and removals monitoring, management and planning at the scales where such decisions can be taken by user communities and ensures that good practices and guidelines are developed.
