About IG3IS

IG3IS is based on existing and successful measurement and analysis methods and use cases for which scientific and technical skill is proven or emerging. The idea is to provide the best possible estimates of GHG emissions that can support decision-makers in taking better-informed action to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and consider co-benefits associated with pollutants that reduce air quality. IG3IS is not designed to check compliance with regulations but rather to provide information on policy- and management-relevant scales and ensure that the information provided is consistent with a global network of high-quality observations and models.
